Once the buyer receives an EDI 753 (Request for Routing Instructions), they will reply with an EDI 754 back to the sender, outlining specific routing instructions. After the EDI 754 is received, a final EDI 856 (Advanced Shipping Notice) is created to eliminate the risk of a duplicate entry. In addition, the EDI 754 can be used to request an EDI 753.
